Cloth Diaper Reviews

Hello Mommies!

In the coming days, I will be posting reviews on different brands of cloth diapers, to help mommies decide on what they will buy for their babies and toddlers. As you all know, I have an online shop My Happy Nappy and most of the moms I encounter are newbie mommies, soon-to-be mommies, or first time on cloth diapering.

Okay, FYI, I am not an expert when it comes to cloth diapering, I consider myself as a newbie too because I just started exclusively cloth diapering my son when he was 2 months old. But with the help of blogs, group about cloth diapers and mommies who are experienced, I was able to learn and get some tips about cloth diapers. I will also be sharing reviews only with the cloth diapers I have with me, mostly those being sold on my online shop.

My first review will be Alva 3.0 in the coming days. If you have any questions or any suggestions, feel free to comment here. If you want me to review a certain brand (wag lang BumGenius, mahal yun! LOL) let me know so I can make a review.

I'll see you in the coming days, hopefully I can make two reviews in one week until I am able to post all cloth diaper brands we are using right now. Thank you Mommies!

Breastfeeding

I am a proud breastfeeding grumpy mommy. Haha. This is actually my first time to breastfeed my child, was not able to do it with my eldest Amber.

The reason why I chose to breastfeed David was because, honestly, we are not well off, we had struggles when Amber was still a baby, buying her not so cheap formula milk. Also, I was not well educated and well informed about the benefits of breastfeeding babies and how it can also help mommies.

Ehem. I believe I lost a couple of pounds and it was because I am breastfeeding my son. It may not be effective to some, but to me it is. Dami nakapansin. Lumuwag mga damit ko, shorts ko, pati underwear ko. Haha seryoso. And now I have reasons to shop. Yahoo!

I wish I had been informed about this when I gave birth to my eldest, laki ng natipid ko at pumayat na din siguro ako noon. Plus, I waS able to give sana the most nutritious milk to Amber.

I am not sure how long I will be able to breastfeed David, but as long as I can, I will. Happy breastfeeding to all breastfeeding mom!

My Happy Nappy

Hi everyone! It's been a looonnggg time since I last blogged here. Ang dami nang nangyari. Hehe. But first, I'd like to share with you my online store,  My Happy Nappy on Facebook amd @myhappynappy on Instagram. My online shop started last August 17 and I resell cloth diapers and educational toys for babies and toddlers.

I am a big fan (and hoarder) of cloth diapers now. I know I blogged about generic diapers before and yes, they are the cheaper disposable diapers, but #NasaClothDiapersAngBigSavings and it's true. I decided to buy cloth dispers when I was 7 months pregnant with David. I was browsing Instagram and a photo of cloth diapers were on my feed. So I got curious and read about it, joined Modern Cloth Nappying Pinay on Facebook and later on, CDAph which stands for Cloth Diaper Addicts PH. There are a lot of helpful information there and that brought me to the idea of selling cloth diapers. Sabi nga nila, gawin mo dae yung bagay na nakakatanggal ng stress and true enough. Alam niyo bang nakakatanggal ng stress maglaba at mag stuff ng cloth diaper? I swear! Totoo yan.

In the next posts, I will share with you our journey in cloth diapers and how it helped me and how it became so addicting, you want to buy all cloth diapers. For the meantime, please do visit my shop, there are a lot hrlpful tips posted. Medyo mas organize lang yung Instagram account kesa sa Facebook page. You can also follow me on my personal account, @thegrumpymommy.

It's good to be back and I will flood you with so much information and share with you what I'm doing as a WAHM. Take care everyone!

David's 1st month

How time flies so fast! My little boy is one month today. It feels like I just gave birth! Haha.

Since this is a very important day for my small family, we decided to prepare something for lunch. I cooked spaghetti, chicken and we bought David a cake.

And today is also memorable because this is the FIRST time we had a family photo. Can you believe that? Hahaha.

Happy 1st month old to my little boy David! Daddy, Mommy and Ate Amber loves you so much! 😍

Babywearing

Since I am a WAHM, plus we don't have a nanny or helper, I do all the chores at home and I have a 4-year old toddler, it would be nice to carry my baby comfortably and safely while doing other chores at the same time. When I learned about babywearing when I was pregnant, I became intrigued and interested to try it when my son is out. Good thing my SIL had a ringsling and she gave it to me when I told her about babywearing.

I first tried babywearing David last Saturday when we accompanied my husband for his check up. This ringsling is hard to lear oh boy! You got to have a lot of patience trying it and making sure you're doing it right. When we were waiting for my husband while he was talking to the doctor, I tried babywearing my son while sitting. Oh goodness! Sitting is the best position as far as I'm concern because I get to relax unlike when I am standing.

I am so happy with my decision of babywearing my son as this is one pf the thjngs I was not able to do with my first born. I feel comfortable and being hands free makes me hold other things nd hold my daughter's hands while walking.

I will also be trying out woven wrap soon, just waiting for my order to arrive. I feel more comfortable with it when I watched it online and I think it is easier to setup.

Oh, did I mention this is addicting? Definitely! 😊

Generic Diapers (Newborn)

I was so happy when a lot of readers took time to read my blog few years ago about the generic diapers I used for my daughter. Now, I am sharing with you the generic diapers I am using on my newborn.

The one on the left side is called Winny and the one on the right side is Bosomi. These are the two diapers that I use for my newborn now, and so far no rashes on my baby's bum.

They both cost 6.50 pesos each and they can also be purchased by 30's (one pack). They are somehow the same price as large and XL size of other generic diapers.

Like what I meantioned in my previous post about generic diapers, they are cheaper compared to branded ones, you just have to make sure that the baby will not have rashes. Why do I use generic diapers instead of those branded ones? I choose to be practical, plus this stage of my newborn is where he poops and pees every 2-3 hours.

The Grumpy Mommy's second baby is here!

I finally gave birth to our second child last week, February 16, 2015, 6:47 pm via C Section. We named him, David.

I woke up 6am Monday morning to prepare my daughter to school and when I went to the restroom to pee, I noticed that water's been flowing continuously. It was the amnionyic fluid, my waterbag broke. I went to the hospital and met my husband there and went straight to the Emergency room.

I was on VBAC plan but the baby was cord coil and my cervix did not fully dilated (2cm only) and had to decide I will have a C Section instead. Though I was a bit disappointed, I am still thankful that my baby boy was safe.

We stayed at the hospital for four days and was discharged last Thursday. It's really good to be home and be with family. Now, i am resting and still a little bit overwhelmed with all that happened and still adjusting with the "puyat sessions" I am in right now. I even feel I am having baby blues. But anyway, all is well and God has been so good to me and my family.
